This is a collage/acrylic piece of work on a big board.
There's a poem scribbled onto it. The poem answers the question that inevitibly gets asked- that of what the painting's about. Here's the poem:
the knave be quiet, somber, dreaming
beneath the arching willow's back
in the seed pods imps are scheming
and near the woods beast hooves a-clack
said boy he turns and writhes in sleeping
he lands atop a thorny bough
from branching veins blue a'seeping
lithe creatures steal what arms allow
his dazèd eyes turn t'ward the clearing
and ears perk up to horses' cry
blood-dripping blades glint darkly, nearing
young boy and tree this day would die
and scarlet eyes weep evermore
for vic'try's won in greed's holy war
